Centre weather vane

When the Centre was nearing completion the Board of the Bradbury Centre commissioned a Weathervane depicting Sir Allan Gilmour and his black Labrador Toddy. Sir Allan was one of the founding members of the Centre who helped local community members realise the dream of a purpose-built Centre for the elderly of our community.  The weathervane was placed on the roof of the Centre in January 1998 where it remained until July 2023.

To celebrate our 25th Anniversary it was decided to get the weathervane refurbished, this was carried out by John Duncan of JD Welding Company in Brora who originally made the weathervane.  John took the weathervane to be shot-blasted and then passed it on to Shirley Maclean for painting, Shirley had painted it all those years ago.

The Weathervane is now back on the roof looking fantastic and we hope it will be there for at least another 25 years.
