25th Anniversary Celebrations
This year the Bradbury Centre celebrated its 25th Anniversary. The Centre has changed over the years from a lunch club and Assessed Day care two days a week to the Wellbeing Centre providing our services four days a week. We can cater for up to 28 clients a week providing transport, morning snacks, lunch, activities and personal care. The clients celebrated this milestone with a week of outings, parties and activities, we split the outings into two groups one group went to Strathpeffer Golf Club for lunch and Bingo, and the other group was treated to a lunch at the Royal Golf Hotel in Dornoch both outings were a great success. Our party was attended by all the client groups also special guests the Lord Lieutenant of Sutherland Major General Patrick Marriott & his deputy Christine Mackay. The guests and clients were treated to a lovely two-course lunch followed by a piece of 25th Anniversary cake, Manager Lorraine Askew presented all the clients with a specially commissioned mug with a picture of the Bradbury Centre to commemorate the Anniversary. Lunch was followed by entertainment from the Portmahomack band who gave their time free of charge.
Thank you to the National Lottery Community Fund for funding this year’s celebration.
Queens Platinum Jubilee
The centre has celebrated the Queens Platinum Jubilee with a week of activities, on Monday we were invited to Nanny’s Café at the golf club for morning coffee and cake which was delicious! Tuesday was lots of fun with games, a Royal quiz and pictures taken with the Queen. Wednesday we had music provided by our previous bus driver Michael Farmer who came all the way from Aviemore to entertain us. Friday we will have Royal themed activities and a visit to the hall for the big brunch. Here are some photos of the week
